Ellie Damant is the winner of the highly prestigious Dubel Art Prize for 2025/26, and a speaker at The VAA (Visual Artists Association) in both Masterclasses and Professional Mentoring for Artists.

Ellie is a comprehensive school, Oxford educated artist based in the U.K. She holds two M.A.s, one in Fine Art and the other in Philosophy.

The artist’s practice has received international recognition from the Abu Dhabi Arts Society both in the U.K. and U.A.E. and her work is in the celebrated art collection of Magdalen College, Oxford.

Ellie received fine art training in human and comparative anatomy at the Oxford Department of Human Anatomy and Genetics, to the level of Renaissance artists Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti. She received several prizes at Oxford including Exhibitioner (a type of scholarship) 3 years running.

She took her M.A. in philosophy at CRMEP and is researching for PhD practice in art and aesthetics concerning money and the ethical questions it presents.

The artist’s professional research has included study in the techniques and practices of European old masters, including extensive private study of some of the most valuable old masters in the King’s Collection at Windsor. Ellie has also received informal teaching on restoration from a leading U.K. old master restorer.

Currently the artist is developing research into elements of belief within myths and philosophy of the Far East, India, South America and the British Isles as part of a forthcoming exhibition on humanity’s relationship to monetary value.

Ellie is a qualified teacher in art, philosophy and art history.
